Downloading Microsoft Internet Explorer – 128 bit version

Overview
This process will take you to Microsoft's web site. Here the site will determine your Operating System and current IE browser version. Then a file will be downloaded to your computer. It is IMPORTANT that you know where the file is stored on your computer. Lastly, you will have the choice to install this file manually or have the software do it automatically. Once that process is complete, you will have a 128-bit browser.
The steps are as follows:
1. Point your web browser to http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/ie/downloads/recommended/128bit/default.asp
2. Choose "Internet Explorer High Encryption Pack (128-bit encryption)".
3. Read the instructions and choose the 'Next' button.
4. Read the text and select the 'I Agree' button.
5. Confirm that your Operating System (i.e. Windows 98/95/NT) has been correctly detected. If not, choose the Operating System from the list provided.
6. Once the Operating System is correctly identified, choose 'Download' button. When the download begins, you will be given two choices: "Run this program from its current location" and "Save this program to disk". If you choose the first option, the file will be downloaded and installed automatically. If you choose the second option, the file will be downloaded, but you will have to manually install the file.
7. If you have chosen "Save this program to disk": When the download is complete, be sure to run the file you downloaded to install your new software. Run requires the user to know where the file was stored and in which directory. If you wrote this location down, now is the time to find it. Go to the file and double click on it to install. The installation process will begin and provide a completed message.
